On October 27, 2024, Sisters of Code hosted our first in-person meeting with teachers and students from Preah Monivong High School and Net Yang High School in Battambang. After working with these schools for years, it was wonderful to finally meet three dedicated teachers and around 30 students face-to-face.
We started with a warm welcome and then shared updates about what Sisters of Code has been doing. We talked about our mission to help young women explore careers in technology. The teachers were very supportive and agreed with our goals, showing real excitement for the ways we can help students gain new skills and confidence. One of the highlights was a video about Sisters of Code. It showed our growth, achievements, and impact.
The teachers shared their thoughts, saying how much they believe in Sisters of Code’s mission. They explained that helping students find opportunities is also something they care deeply about. It was inspiring to see how much we all have in common and how our partnership can make a real difference. The students also showed a lot of enthusiasm. Many of them want to get more involved, with some even interested in becoming Sisters of Code ambassadors to inspire their classmates. Their energy was contagious, filling the room with hope and excitement.
As the meeting came to an end, it was clear that this isn’t just a partnership—it’s a shared dream for a future where young women can overcome barriers and succeed in tech. This meeting was a great step, and we’re thrilled to see where this journey takes us. We also felt grateful and motivated, looking forward to a long and meaningful collaboration with these incredible teachers and students.
