Sisters of Code is pleased to announce that applications for the Employment Skills Program (ESP) 2026 are now officially open. We are excited to welcome a new cohort of young women who aim to enhance their digital skills and take meaningful steps toward their future careers.

About the Program

The Employment Skills Program (ESP) was launched in 2024 by Sisters of Code with the generous support of Liechtenstein Development Service (LED). The program aims to equip young women in Cambodia with essential digital and technical skills to prepare them for career opportunities in the modern economy.


For 2026, the program offers two specialized courses at zero cost:

  • Digital Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing

  • Website Development and UX/UI Design


Digital Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing Course

  1. Program Overview

The Digital Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing (DE&DM) course is a 16-week intensive training program designed to nurture entrepreneurial thinking and help students turn creative business ideas into practical action.


Throughout the program, participants will engage in structured learning through the NetAcad Online platform, receiving international certificates, as well as work in teams to develop real business ideas, apply theory directly to practical projects, and pitch their business plans. Students are expected to come with a business idea they are willing to develop collaboratively during the course.


  1. Class Schedule

The DE&DM course runs for 16 weeks, including 13 weeks of in-person training, 1 week of business site visit and self-study, 1 week dedicated to business pitch rehearsal and feedback, and 1 final week for business presentations.


Classes will take place every Sunday at IT Academy STEP Cambodia, Toul Kork Branch, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. To maximize the benefits of the course, selected students are expected to fully commit to attending and actively participating in all sessions throughout the program.

  1. Who Can Join?

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Cambodian female currently enrolled in a university (Year 3 or 4 preferred) or TVET institution, or a recent graduate (any major)

  • Strong PC skills (typing, internet use, email communication)

  • Good English proficiency

  • Strong interest in entrepreneurship and availability to attend Sunday classes.


  1. What You Will Gain?

By the end of the program, participants will receive:

  • Official certificates upon completion, including a certificate from IT Academy STEP Cambodia Institute and a certificate of online course completion from Cisco Networking Academy

  • Guidance on internships and job readiness for future opportunities

  • Entrepreneurship foundations such as developing vision, setting goals, and cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset

  • Opportunity analysis skills, identifying ideas and assessing competition

  • Digital skills namely marketing, content creation, website basics, and online advertising

  • Execution skills such as effective project planning and management.


Website Development and UX/UI Design Course

  1. Program Overview

The Website Development and UX/UI Design course is a 14-week intensive training program designed to empower participants with comprehensive web design and development skills, as well as clear understanding on UX/UI design principles and tools.


Through rigorous curriculum, this course aims to prepare students for employment opportunities as front-end web developers, UX/UI designers or freelancers in this field. The course is focused on practical skills development, as well as include training on creating portfolio, CV and applying for jobs. 


  1. Class Schedule

The Website Development and UX/UI course runs for 14 weeks, including 13 weeks of in-person training and 1 week for final project presentation. Participants are required to attend classes every Sunday from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at IT Academy STEP Cambodia, Toul Kork Branch.

  1. Who Can Join?

Participants must meet the following criteria:

  • Cambodian female currently enrolled in a university (Year 3 or 4 preferred) or TVET institution, or a recent graduate (any major)

  • Strong interest in technical and design careers, such as web developers and UI/UX designers.

  • An official certificate of completion from IT Academy STEP Cambodia Institute

  • Guidance on preparing for future job and internship opportunities

  • Capacity to build and design functional, responsive websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and design tools like Canva, Figma, and Framer

  • Programming and interactive skills, applying JavaScript, debugging, and more.

  • Experience collaborating effectively on individual and group projects using Agile Scrum, Git, and GitHub.

  • Enhanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills via hands-on projects.


Program Timeline

Interested participants should take note of the following program schedule:

  • Application Open: March 2, 2026

  • Application Closed: March 23, 2026 (11:59pm)

  • Shortlist Announcement: March 30, 2026

  • Interviews: April 4-5, 2026

  • Selected Students Announcement: April 9, 2026

  • Student Orientation: April 25, 2026

  • Program Start: April 26, 2026

  • Expected Program End: August 16, 2026
