Takeo Students Graduation Day

On December 6, 2025, Sisters of Code, in collaboration with the Community Tech Center of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, proudly organized a graduation ceremony for 36 female students from Takeo Province who successfully completed their studies in the Sisters of Code Clubs program.

Sisters of Code Clubs is an after-school coding and digital skills training program for female students aged 10 and above, offered at ZERO cost with the support of the Liechtenstein Development Service (LED). The program was brought to students in Takeo Province through partnerships with the Community Tech Centers at three public high schools: Bunrany Hun Sen Bati High School, Sok An Tram Knhar High School, and Hun Sen 1 Mithona High School. Students joined the Sisters of Code Clubs program from July to November 2025.


The graduation ceremony was held in the morning at IT Academy STEP Cambodia, Olympic Branch, and was joined by partners, school representatives, and students.

The ceremony began with a welcoming speech from Mrs. Natalja Rodionova, Sisters of Code Founder and Managing Director of IT Academy STEP Cambodia Institute. Mrs. Natalja expressed her appreciation to all partners, including the Community Tech Centers and school partners, for their cooperation. She also extended her gratitude to the Liechtenstein Development Service (LED) for their tremendous support in Sisters of Code.


Most importantly, she expressed how proud she was of all the female students for completing their studies and reaching this important milestone. Mrs. Natalja encouraged the students to celebrate their achievements fully and to continue exploring and learning about coding and digital skills.

We were also honored to have Mr. Pius Frick, Country Program Coordinator of the Liechtenstein Development Service (LED), deliver a congratulatory speech. Mr. Pius warmly congratulated the students on reaching this important milestone and learning new skills. He reminded the students of the importance of equipping themselves with digital knowledge and skills, regardless of the major or career path they choose in the future.

In addition, Sisters of Code was pleased to welcome Mrs. Tan Sodany, Director of the ICT Policy Department at the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), who delivered the opening remarks. She congratulated all 36 female students who successfully completed the intensive after-school learning program offered through Sisters of Code Clubs.



Mrs. Sodany highlighted the importance of collaboration among stakeholders, including development partners, government ministries, schools, and digital education initiatives. In her closing message, she wished the students the very best in their continued pursuit of knowledge and encouraged them to explore new technologies to prepare themselves to become confident digital citizens.

The event was also attended by school principals from each participating school: Mr. Oeurng Chansivutha, Principal of Bunrany Hun Sen Bati High School; Mr. Sat Nang, Principal of Sok An Tram Knhar High School; and Mr. Kong Vitou, Deputy Principal of Hun Sen 1 Mithona High School. The principals expressed their appreciation to Sisters of Code for bringing the Clubs program to their schools, which enabled students to learn new skills such as coding, game and website development, as well as soft skills like public speaking and teamwork.

The Heads of the Community Tech Centers—Mr. Hor Pros from Bunrany Hun Sen Bati High School, Mr. Chak Pichsangha from Sok An Tram Knhar High School, and Mr. Sun Ny, teacher at Hun Sen 1 Mithona High School—also expressed their gratitude to Sisters of Code for bringing this valuable initiative to their female students. They shared their satisfaction that the students were able to make effective use of the Community Tech Centers through after-school programs like Sisters of Code Clubs.


Throughout the 17-week training, Sisters of Code closely monitored students’ progress to ensure the program was implemented effectively. Feedback was collected through online surveys from all 36 students, and the results were very encouraging.

Ms. Song Lauren, Sisters of Code's Project Manager, took the stage to present a brief overview of the survey findings. According to the results, most students have gained confidence in using their digital skills in the future after completing the program. An impressive 84% feel very confident or confident, while 17% feel somewhat confident, demonstrating the program’s positive impact on their learning progress.


Additionally, 97% reported that the Sisters of Code Clubs program has increased their interest in studying technology. For instance, 53% of the students plan to pursue STEM subjects in higher education, 25% are interested in Social Sciences, 14% are still undecided, and 8% are leaning toward Finance or Banking. These results show not only the growth in skills and confidence but also the inspiration the program provides for students to explore their passions and consider future career paths.

A student representative from each school shared their experiences in the Sisters of Code Clubs program. First, Yon Vannha from Sok An Tram Knhar High School highlighted the valuable skills she gained, including problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, confidence, and patience. She learned to tackle challenges step by step, collaborate with peers, use her imagination in coding projects, overcome initial difficulties, and stay persistent when things didn’t work. Her final project was creating a website to sell Cambodian desserts.

Second, Hov Leakhena, a student at Bunrany Hun Sen Bati High School, shared that she learned more than she expected. She developed creative thinking and imagination, worked on portfolio design using HTML and CSS, and practiced problem-solving on mobile devices as well as creating and fixing general materials. Most importantly, despite being shy, she found the courage to share her learning journey in front of everyone at the ceremony—a small step that meant a lot to her.

Third, Ms. SoKha LeangEy, a student at Hun Sen 1 Mithona High School, shared that she gained a deeper understanding of computers and technology, including AI generation and coding. Despite challenges like hot weather and rain, she and her classmates continued attending classes with their teacher. Through this experience, she has grown into a more confident student, eager to explore and engage with technology. For her final project, she created a website selling Khmer-made blushes, lipsticks, and perfumes.


In recognition of their courage in delivering presentations, Sisters of Code's Project Leader Mrs. Chin Dalin presented each student with a Sisters of Code tote bag.

After listening to students' presentations, ICT teachers Mr. Meng Sreng from Bunrany Hun Sen Bati High School and Mr. Meav Noreakseth from Sok An Tram Knhar High School, along with student volunteer Mr. Im Sokchheang from Hun Sen 1 Mithona High School, took the stage to share their impressions of the program, having supported the students’ learning journey over the past 17 weeks. They all observed that students accomplished tasks they once thought were impossible, such as creating websites, developing games, and completing projects both individually and as a team.


In recognition of their dedication and support throughout the 17-week program, Mrs. Natalja Rodionova, presented them with certificates of appreciation, along with tote bags and cups as tokens of gratitude.

This learning journey would not have been possible without the active participation of the Sisters of Code Ambassadors who led the coding clubs at the three schools. Ms. Yun Sokly, Club Leader at Bunrany Hun Sen Bati High School; Ms. Un Suning, Club Leader at Sok An Tram Knhar High School; and Ms. Phoeurt Rathana, Club Leader at Hun Sen 1 Mithona High School, showed immense dedication as they traveled from Phnom Penh to the schools every Saturday with one goal, which is to build students’ confidence and impart digital knowledge and skills.


Sisters of Code is extremely proud of the commitment of our Ambassadors in empowering the next generation of digital creators. In recognition of their contributions, Sisters of Code Founder Mrs. Natalja presented them with flower bouquets as a token of appreciation.

The exciting moment then arrived as Sisters of Code announced the top students from each coding club. Five students were selected based on their combined scores from the final project, quizzes, and attendance. The Top Students Award went to Hov Leakhena from Bunrany Hun Sen Bati High School, Phal Sreyneath from Sok An Tram Knhar High School, and Ke Narim, Pok Sreilin, and Hok Somphors from Hun Sen 1 Mithona High School.


Following the announcement of the top students, Mrs. Natalja, together with the Heads of the Community Tech Centers and the Clubs Leaders from each school, proudly presented certificates of completion to all the students who successfully completed the program.

The room was filled with laughter, gratitude, and celebration as the ceremony drew to a close. Mrs. Chin Dalin, Sisters of Code Project Leader, delivered the closing remarks, expressing heartfelt appreciation to all partners who contributed to the success of the coding clubs in Takeo.


She shared her excitement at seeing the students enjoy the learning experience and grow in confidence with technology—a subject that has only recently gained popularity among female students. Mrs. Dalin encouraged the students to cherish this experience, continue exploring subjects they are passionate about, and pursue learning without fear.


The graduation ceremony concluded with a group photo, cake, and lunch, providing an opportunity for students to celebrate their achievements and connect with one another.


In the afternoon, the Sisters of Code team led the students to visit the Digital Government Forum 2025, hosted by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications. The visit showcased Cambodia’s progress in digital governance and highlighted innovations from both government and private sectors. This experience allowed our students to see technology in action and inspired them to envision their own roles in driving Cambodia’s digital transformation as the next generation of digital creators.


The celebration ended on an encouraging and heartwarming note. Students said goodbye to their ambassadors and returned to Takeo with happy tears, proud of their accomplishments and the relationships they had built within the Sisters of Code community. Sisters of Code is immensely proud of their achievements and looks forward to continuing to support and empower these young learners as they grow into confident, digitally skilled leaders of the future.
