On Sunday, 23rd November 2025, Sisters of Code was delighted to host a graduation ceremony for two groups of students in Siem Reap, held at Caring for Cambodia (CFC).

The ceremony celebrated the achievements of Siem Reap students from our Sisters of Code Club, who completed 18 weeks of coding and digital skills learning, and students from the Employment Skills Program, who completed a 15-week course in Digital Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing. Both programs were proudly delivered in Siem Reap in partnership with Caring for Cambodia, with generous support from Liechtenstein Development Service.
We were honored to celebrate this milestone alongside our partners, trainers, parents, and students, all gathered to recognize the hard work and growth of these young learners.

The event opened with warm remarks from Mrs. Sann Kanha, Program Manager for Youth Development at CFC. She congratulated students for their dedication to strengthening their digital and coding skills. Mrs. Kanha expressed her pride in their accomplishments and wished them well as they continue their studies and future aspirations.
Throughout the learning period, Caring for Cambodia generously provided their Education Center as the venue for both programs. This welcoming space enabled students to learn in person, engage more actively, and benefit from an environment that encouraged hands-on practice and meaningful interaction.

Ms. My Mab, Project Manager at Sisters of Code, also took the stage to congratulate the students on reaching this important milestone. She delivered a presentation highlighting the strong outcomes of the programs.
Remarkably, 100% of students from the Sisters of Code Club in Siem Reap shared that the program increased their interest in studying technology. Likewise, 100% of students from the Employment Skills Program agreed that the Digital Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing course helped them strengthen their professional skills. These results reflect the students’ dedication and the impact of providing accessible digital learning opportunities for young people in Siem Reap.
These programs would not have been possible without the commitment and passion of our trainers. Mrs. Ra Ya, the trainer for the Digital Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing course, has been the backbone of the program. As an entrepreneur herself, she is deeply committed to supporting more female students by equipping them with the skills and confidence they need to explore their potential in entrepreneurship.
During the event, she shared how impressed she was by the students’ dedication. She noted that not everyone can commit to studying every Sunday—especially when they already have full-time classes during the week. Yet, nine students from the Employment Skills Program chose to spend six hours every Saturday to follow the course from start to finish, ultimately developing impressive business pitches.
Ms. Norn Dany, Sisters of Code Club Ambassador, has been leading the coding club in Siem Reap since 2022. During the event, she shared that even though she has led several clubs over the years, each group always feels new and special. Every time she sees new faces walk into the room, she feels that familiar mix of excitement and responsibility—excited to welcome them, and hopeful about how the club might help them grow. Dany said she loves watching the girls gradually open up, support one another, and discover what they can create with code.
Our trainers’ dedication not only drives the success of the programs but, more importantly, contributes to a greater purpose, helping young girls build confidence in their digital skills and empowering them to explore their potential.

Ms. Oeurn Rany, a student from the Employment Skills Program, confidently took the stage to deliver a presentation reflecting on her learning journey. She shared that time management was one of her biggest challenges, balancing full-time study and work. Yet, she stayed committed to the program from start to finish due to the well-designed curriculum and the encouragement from her trainer.
During the course, she collaborated with her group on a business project called KhmerTalk Language School. Her team, which included Eam Hom, Hoch Reaksmey, and Mean Seyha impressed everyone with their creativity and dedication, ultimately winning the Best Group Project Award.

A student representative from the Sisters of Code Club program, Ms. Van Sokkeang, shared an inspiring story about her journey with coding. Encouraged by her mother to give it a try, she joined the program when Sisters of Code recruited students in Siem Reap. At first, coding felt completely new and a bit challenging, but with effort and the support of her club leader and classmates, she worked through the difficulties and successfully completed the course, creating a final project in Scratch.
It was wonderful to see her speak so confidently about her experience in front of the audience, including her proud parents. Sokkeang shared that she now feels more confident than ever in her tech skills and excited about what she can create next.
Sisters of Code was thrilled to celebrate all the 15 students’ achievements. Each of them has shown incredible talent and dedication in tech learning. After 18 weeks of hard work, we were excited to recognize our top student. The Top Student Award in the Sisters of Code Clubs program goes to Ms. Rann Nita for her outstanding dedication and achievements.

Finally, certificates of course completion were presented to all students by our partners and trainers, celebrating their dedication and achievements throughout the programs.

Sisters of Code concluded the event with closing remarks from our Project Manager, Ms. Song Lauren, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to Caring for Cambodia for their partnership, to the trainers for their dedication and guidance, to the students for their commitment, and to the parents for supporting their daughters in exploring tech and digital skills.
The ceremony ended with a shared moment of joy—refreshments, photos, and cake—celebrating not just the students’ achievements, but also their growth, courage, and the supportive community that helped them reach this milestone. It was a beautiful reminder of what young learners can achieve when given opportunity, guidance, and encouragement.
