On August 16, 2025, Sisters of Code, in collaboration with Deloitte Cambodia, organized an exclusive workshop on Work Readiness for 35 female students enrolled in the Digital Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing and the Website Development and UX/UI Design courses under the Employment Skills Program 2026.

Many of our students are in their junior or senior year of university. To support their transition into the workforce, the workshop was designed to help them strengthen practical workplace skills and refine their CVs.

The workshop was led by Mr. Chan Sopheak, Human Resources Manager at Deloitte Cambodia, who shared valuable insights and practical experiences to help our students better understand how to craft a compelling and professional CV, as well as how to prepare for job interviews.

Mr. Sopheak kicked off the workshop with a session on Professional CV Development, where he delivered a detailed presentation on the essential components and structure of a strong CV. He explained what recruiters typically look for in candidates and shared practical tips to help students avoid common mistakes when preparing their CVs.

With printed copies of their CVs in hand, students not only listened to the presentation but also exchanged their CVs with peers for real-time review and feedback. An interactive Q&A between the students and our speaker followed, giving students the opportunity to ask questions and receive personalized advice.

The learning did not end there. To help students build confidence and strengthen their interview skills, a hands-on mock interview activity was included. Mr. Sopheak divided the students into three groups and conducted the mock interviews as the interviewer.

Each group was asked three different questions, ranging from general and behavioral questions to questions about their future vision. The activity gave students an opportunity to practice responding to different types of questions and better understand how to navigate questions they may encounter in a real interview.

Through this interactive exercise, students put the tips and techniques from the presentation into practice. It gave them a chance to experience a real interview setting, build their confidence, and sharpen their professional skills.

According to our post-workshop survey, 100% of participants found the Professional CV Development session useful for improving their CVs, while 97% reported that the mock interview session helped them better prepare for interviews. Overall, 90% of participants considered the workshop was relevant to their preparation for internships and future job opportunities.

By the end of the workshop, participants were awarded certificates of completion from Deloitte Cambodia in recognition of their time and active involvement.
