Employment Skills Program 2026 Graduation Celebration in Phnom Penh
On September 13, 2026, Sisters of Code celebrated the successful graduation of 41 female students from the Employment Skills Program 2026 cohort with a joyful ceremony at the IT Academy STEP Cambodia, Olympic Branch.
The Employment Skills Program is a free digital skills training initiative for female students aged 20-25. It offers two specialized tracks tailored to their interests: Digital Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing, and Website Development and UX/UI Design. Funded by the Liechtenstein Development Service (LED), the program enables young women to gain essential digital skills at no cost.
The ceremony began with opening remarks by Mrs. Natalja Rodionova, Founder of Sisters of Code and Managing Director of IT Academy STEP Cambodia Institute. Mrs. Natalja congratulated the 41 graduates across both tracks and praised their dedication to developing their digital skills and preparing for their future careers.
Founded in 2019 as Cambodia’s first female coding club, Sisters of Code has grown significantly, reaching more than 1,600 students in 2026. As the founder, Mrs. Natalja believes that girls and women can thrive in the digital technology sector when given the right opportunities and quality education. In her remarks, she extended her best wishes to the graduates and expressed her hope to see them continue growing their skills and confidently transition into the workforce in the near future.
According to final survey results presented by Ms. My Mab, Project Manager at Sisters of Code, 100% of students from the Digital Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing course stated they would recommend the program to other students.
Similarly, 96% of students in the Website Development and UX/UI Design course agreed the program helped improve their professional skills.
This success would not have been possible without the dedication of our trainers, whose guidance, encouragement, and expertise inspired students to stay committed and give their best throughout the program.
Ms. Roatny NUON, Digital Entrepreneurship Trainer, shared how proud she has been of her students over the past 15 weeks, noting their ability to manage busy schedules while developing business ideas and turning them into real business pitches. Ms. Sina THORN, Digital Marketing Trainer, also praised the students for their discipline and dedication, which helped them strengthen their technical skills, teamwork, collaboration, and career readiness.
Ms. Sophannary VIN, Website Development and UX/UI Design Trainer, highlighted the students’ growth from entering the program with curiosity to developing a deeper understanding of coding, computational thinking, and problem-solving. Ms. Rothana RON, Part-Time Assistant Trainer, also played an important role by supporting students in completing assignments on time and delivering their final projects successfully.

Sisters of Code is deeply grateful to our trainers and trainer assistants for dedicating their valuable Sundays to supporting the digital skills development of girls and women in Cambodia.
In recognition of their dedication and contribution, Mrs. Natalja presented fruit baskets and certificates to our three lead trainers, honoring their important role in making the Employment Skills Program 2026 a success.
Both courses required students to complete group projects, giving them an opportunity to gain practical experience and build their professional portfolios. Students in the Digital Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing track were divided into groups, with each team developing a distinct business project. Meanwhile, students in the Website Development and UX/UI Design track worked in teams to create their own unique website projects.
To celebrate the students’ creativity, one outstanding group project was selected from each course. We are pleased to announce that the Best Group Project Award in the Digital Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing course went to NearySpace.
NearySpace is a project designed to provide a safe, localized platform where women can access reliable health information and guidance in both Khmer and English.
Representing the team, Ms. Doeun Sreynin and Ms. Bich Sreyvy took the stage to give a short presentation on the project’s background and share how their experience in the Sisters of Code program contributed to their personal and professional development. Reflecting on their journey, they shared that going from knowing very little about digital entrepreneurship and digital marketing to turning a complex idea into a tangible project was a remarkable milestone that they will not forget.

On the other hand, the Best Group Project Award in the Website Development and UX/UI Design course goes to Traveezy. Traveezy is a website designed to help both local and international tourists navigate and discover tourist destinations in Cambodia more efficiently and effectively.
Representing the winning team, Ms. Lim Kimhoung proudly shared that the program deepened her understanding of UX/UI development in ways she had not imagined.
From start to finish, she thoroughly enjoyed the course, which gave her the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new friends, build a team, and work together on the Traveezy project. “I would rate every aspect of this program delivery a 100%,” said Kimhoung during her presentation. She also expressed her deepest gratitude to the trainer for her guidance and support throughout the program.
The ceremony also featured a guest address from Mr. Buoy Hengyouhong, Outreach Associate at Cambodia Youth Consulting (CYC). Mr. Hengyouhong delivered congratulatory speeches and shared about professional development opportunities provided by CYC available to the graduates.
Sisters of Code was thrilled to bring together students, trainers, and industry professionals to celebrate this significant milestone as participants completed their training.
Adding to the celebration, six outstanding students were selected based on the program’s assessment criteria, including attendance, discipline and consistency throughout the training, and the quality of their final projects.
We are proud to recognise Ms. Bich Sreyvy and Ms. Vy Somalika from the Digital Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing course, along with Ms. Lim Kimhoung, Ms. Nang Sreynich, Ms. Pheng Chankanhchana, and Ms. Vannak Seaklim from the Website Development and UX/UI Design course, among the top outstanding students. The winners were carefully evaluated by the trainers and project team based on the established assessment criteria.

Finally, Sisters of Code proudly presented official certificates to all 41 graduates, celebrating their hard work, dedication, and growth throughout the program.
Graduates of the Digital Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing track received two credentials: one co-issued by Sisters of Code and IT Academy STEP Cambodia, and another from the Cisco Networking Academy. These certificates mark not only the completion of their training, but also the new skills and knowledge they have gained along the way.

The celebration continued with closing remarks from Mrs. Chin Dalin, Project Leader at Sisters of Code, who expressed her pride in the students’ progress and encouraged them to continue learning, strengthening their digital skills, and exploring new opportunities in the digital economy.
She also shared her heartfelt appreciation to the Liechtenstein Development Service (LED) for its continued support in making the program possible and creating more opportunities for young women to develop their skills and confidence in technology.
The ceremony came to a joyful close with refreshments and cake, giving graduates, trainers, and guests time to connect, celebrate, and reflect on the journey they had shared. From learning new digital skills to developing projects and building new connections, the day was a meaningful celebration of everything the graduates had accomplished.
